Ive got a 1.8d R reg escort 55hp stuck in 5th gear, it wont come out of gear. Ive tried moving the car with and without the engine running, Ive put more gear oil in it.
Do need to change the gearbox

would recommend sticking it in a garage it could be the mechanical parts underneath the van that switch from the gear stick to the gearbox if not its not hard or expensive to find another one and doesn't take long to do! which would be the easiest if it were internal. hope that helped.
