How can i fix my Canon MV700I digital camcorder?

When i turn on the camera it starts up as normal but i do not get an image on the screen or via the view finder. When recording you only pick up the sound (Yes, i have removed the lens cap). The screen works when i put an old cassette in & watch a previously recorded tape which suggests the screen is ok. I just get a blue screen with logo's & words on.

Thanks in advance

This fault is the subject of a product recall.CCD internal wires become detached.A nominated CANON SERVICE CENTRE (see canon website) should repair FOC . Mine suffering identical fault and have just sent to LEHMANNS STOKE.
