i work for audi which are similar cars perhaps similar faults it sounds like you have just the one fault the boot lock switch possibly located in the lock is faulty does the boot light stay on also? i never had a problem with my boot lock on my golf GTI but i would recommend making sure there isnt a water leak around the boot the reason for the boot switch failing in first place what a nice car by the way i liked mine i didnt want to get rid but it was gettin quite a few faults with it
