My Sigma 28-200mmD Asperical lens has decided to focus only from 1.5-2.0 m. It just seem to meet dead block either doing it manually or on the camera on auto focus. Do I just chuck it away since a repair would be ott in cost I imagine?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Were you ever able to resolve this? I just bought a lens on eBay that started OK, but very quickly began to show the same symtoms that you describe here.
It's a Sigma 28-70mm D EX Aspherical f/2.8 for Nikon.
