The spindles on my Walkman suddenly quit turning, and I'm wondering if it's a broken belt. I can't figure out how to check it?

On the lid side? If so, how do I remove the lid without breaking it?

Or the back side? There is a seam running around the unit but the back seems on very tight. Do I try to pry it apart, or is there a release somewhere?

Usually there are snap points on the back. Just pry on it real easy and you can tell were the release snaps are hope this helps you
