bobbin trouble?

hi
i have a brother xl-5021 the machine will do a couple of stitches and then the under stitch cloggs up , i have to the try and cut the fabric free from the feeder teeth, hwat can you suggest i do

Sounds like a tension problem to begin with but start from the beginning, thread the machine up and make sure the presser foot is up so the thread goes between the tension discs, top tension between 4 and 6, make sure you have the needle in the correct way round, bottom tension should be able to be pulled through with some resistence but not too tight, test it and see what happens, if it stiull clogs up you will need to take the needle plate off and pull both threads to the back and hold them lightly, turn the balance wheel by hand towards you and see if the thread is clearing the gap in the bobbin case, if it is not forming a stitch and not clearing the gap you may need to retime it.
