What does the phrase "Supervisory Alert" mean?

How do I fix this? Is it a problem with batteries in the panic buttons? What does it mean and how do I fix it?

It is a Moose System Z-1100e.

To reiterate: The alarm did not sound. Our neighborhood police came at 3:00 AM and said they got a signal that printed out "Supervisory Alert" or something like that. Our alarm was not "on". We were just asleep.
John Fain, February 2008
SUPERVISORY/TROUBLE: Indicates that a fault (such as a shorted or broken wire) exists on a FIRE or other 24 hour zone. For special applications, intrusion detection zones may also be programmed for supervisory/trouble alert.
