How to stop water leakage from toilet flush?

I want to know how to stop the water leakage from toilet flush. Water is dripping into toilet as soon as the flush tank gets filled to a minimum level, as it is not completely stopping the water is getting filled continuously. I don't know if it is minor or major prob to mend it. Please help me. Ours is Modern continental style push button cistern.

This is a P.S. to what I have already written which I see has been put on twice! I should have said that after about 7 seconds remove your finger from the flush button! However as you asked for help in March you have probably got it sorted out by now.

We are having a similar problem with our toilet which was fitted in December and have asked the installer to remedy this but nothing has happened yet! We find that if you keep your finger on the flush button until the main flush has finished (about 7 seconds in our case) then the flush slows and stops. I hope this is of use to you.
