How can I fix my Vauxhall Omega car alarm?

I have a V reg Vauxhall Omega 2.0 CDX, which has a car alarm that goes off in the middle of the night for no apparant reason.I can park it at 19.00 at night, and the alarm will go off at about 05.00 in the morning, with no obvious reason why. At first I thought that it was due to a windy night, but it goes off at other times. Would appreciate any help, signed Perplexed

Check your bonnet alarm pin, they are normally the cause, also check the boot pin for the same reason. You can lock it without the alarm if it gets too much by locking the front door pin through the rear door then close the rear door. Least you get a good nights kip.

I have an omega cdx which the alarm went off even when it wasnt supposed to be enabled. Seems that after a couple of years the batteries in the sounder is liable to fail and this causes "Im being tampered with signals to the alarm system. In our case it disabled the whole car, locking the gearbox in park. We we advised to disable the sounder, which is hidden in the wing. You must remove the plug to it WITH THE ignition switched on- this allows you to do it without upsetting the alarm system. As the sounders cost a fortune to replace we didnt bother and everythings been fine since.
