Hi Chris's answer was spot on thanks. I had never played with domestic appliances before and it worked as stated. The only thing i might add is that you need to get the special screwdriver or bits as the screws are what is called star screws i think.
I also found an extra pair of hands helpful to get the spring retaining bands on !!

Remove the front bottom plastic facing by opening the access door on the RHS and removing the single screw Then slide the cover right to remove.

The front metal panel is held by three screws two beneath the plastic cover and one behind the soap powder drawer. Pull out the dawer and remove by flexing the plastic catch. The screw to beremoved is at the bottom RHS.

The gasket is held by a circlip front and rear. Remove the front clip and pull the rubber gasket away from the panel, then tuck the gasket inside which will allow the metal door panel to be pulled out from the bottom. The door has an electronic lock which must be unplugged.

Once the panel has ben removed the gasket can be removed by pulling off the spring retainer and unclipping the gasket from the drum. Note the way the gasket sits, there is a dimple at the lower part.

Re assemble is the reverse process.
