Home Alarm System?

I have a Veritas R8 Alarm System. The alarm system appears to be in good working order, but there is a loud humming noise that sometimes comes from the control panel. Should I be concerned? What are the likely causes and remedies?

It's transformer 'Hummmmmmmmmmm', quite normal from the cheap and nasty transformers that are normally inside alarm control panels.

Not usually a problem unless it keeps you awake at night.
