Snow Globes?

I have a lovely nativity scene snow globe. Music Box is perfect. Liquid level is fine BUT the irridescent "snow" has become somewhat clumped together. I have tried hot water in a bowl, turning the globe upside down careful not to endanger the base. It seems to help a bit but there are still clumps. It looks like a white gluey mass of irridescence. Help?!
