broken wire?

my wire inside my bass guitar has fallen off and my bass has no back board meaning i have to try and get to the problem through small curveture (pattened) holes in my guitars body?
firstly how do i get to the broken ire if the bass cant be opened and secondly how do i fix the broken wire?

Remove the pickup(s) and use a piece of bent stiff wire to retrieve the broken wire through the rectangular holes. You may need to remove the volume/tone pots (they will fit through the pickup hole). You can also remove the jack socket if necessary.
