False alarms ?

I get occasional false alarms which I think may be due to spiders etc in or on the pir sensors.
I believe more sophisticated sensors are now available which reduce or eliminate false alarms caused by sensors. The existing system is approx 15 yrs old, a domestic application with 6 pir's and 2 magnetic contacts
Thanks for any info/advice

is it false alarm when set? or even when your in your house? if alarm just goes off for no reason even if you have not set it, the control panel may flash TAMPER,,or 24HR.. this could be something simple like a P.I.R cover not properly fitted,,say after redecoration, could even be the bell box tamper switch.if its a faulty p.i.r the trouble nowadays is getting the correct sensor to be compatable with your system. whatever zone lights up on control panel try isolating that zone (a few days only) to see what happens..
