Can I dismantle and reassemble my 3 seater sofa?

I have a large 3 seat sofa in my living room. I purchased it before I changed my front door. I don't think that the sofa will now fit through the front door. (The new door has a larger frame than the old one did and I remember that the sofa was a tight squeeze even with the old front door.)

Is it likely that I can dismantle the frame inside in some way to make the unit slightly smaller so that it will fit out the front door? I would be looking for a solution which caused minimal damage to the sofa and enabled me to still use it after I had put it back together.

(The sofa was a good one from DFS for those who know DFS.)

On many new dfs sofas the arms unbolt which will solve your problem. If there are zips in the dustcloth (underneath the sofa!) then the arms will definitely come off. Even if there aren't if you can see a seam where the arm joins the main body the arms should come off. If you look inside from underneath & you can see some bolts they will be safe to undo. Good luck!
