Vauxhall astra stereo memory holding problems?

i have a Vauxhall astra sxi 53 plate, ive put my sony stereo in but every time i get back in my car and start it up it doesnt hold all the stations i had stored, it starts as if it was just wired in again

you need to switch the two power cables around... i suffered the same thing for about a year before i bothered googling!

There are two battery supplies to the radio. One via the ignition switch...the other directly from the battery (via a fuse).
The radio memory is fed from this second direct feed.
