How Can I Deal With Blistering Paint?

I stripped all walls of paper and had them painted with emulsion paint two years ago. The painter applied a mis-coat of emulsion before applying a further one or two coats of emulsion

In some parts of the house the finish is fine but in others the paint is bubbling and blistering off in increasingly large and unsightly patches.

These are mainly on stud walls but patches are also appearing on plastered walls.

Is there a way I can remove these patches, treat the underlying walls and repaint?

Thank you for that, Mr Dawson. It sounds very much as though that is the reason - I did get a huge amount of water on the walls when I steamed off the old wallpaper!

the blistering probably caused by a type of salt coming out of the walls you painted over,or maybe you painted the walls and might still have had moisture in them from wetting the wallpaper.best thing..scrape loose off,rub down well, put oil undercoat on affected walls, emulsion after at least 24 hours
