how can I close the electric sunroof which stops 2 thirds closed. How can I close it manually

i DONE IT!!! there is a reset procedure, get in car, close door, start up , push open, then push close just once ( Auto close) and before it gets to where it usually sticks, open door and turn off engine, then close door, turn ignition on and hey presto it closed, just like someone had said,

Not sure if the above mentioned Hocus Pocus method works, but it didnt work for me. I had to manually close my roof.

Contrary to what most people think, the manual over ride is not always located located in the interiorlight.

On my Avensis the manual over ride is located between the Sunroof control & the actual sunroof. It is accessed by removing some of the interior rubber rim of the sun roof in line with the open close button for the sunroof. This will allow you access underneath the ceiling cover. Here you will find a Nut that can be turned with an Allen/Hex Key. The above mentioned rubber rim can be put in place, and you'd never know you had removed it!!!

Had same problem my self yesterday. This is what i did hope it helps. Get in car turn on engine manually ( i mean keep youre finger on the buttion) wind back sunroof all the way back.Then press auto close and before the roof comes to where it stops open the car door. Turn of engine. now turn on ignition and close door the roof should be in home position. You may need to play around a bit . it took me 2 minutes. if this fails then Toyata tell me that the manual over ride is located in the inteior light. Hope it helps.
