Eco button turns itself on - Worcester 25Si?

Combination boiler works well and has been serviced annually for the 3 years of it's life. Now the ECO button is on all the time. This means that when you want hot water the system runs, triggers heating and you wait for about half a minute for hot water.
The button should work, to allow the boiler to heat a small reservoir of hot water to avoid the delay.
When I press the button it works ok for a few minutes up to a few hours. It even worked for nearly a day, - but then it reverts of its own accord to "ECO" setting.

I am baffled. If I call in the company that fitted it and regularly service it, I am worried that their solution will be to change the whole control module and charge hundreds of quid for the pleasure.

Please does anyone have any ideas that might help to explain what is happening?

The answer was provided by a gentleman at Worcester.
The ECO mode switching itself back on is caused by the hot water being on 'timer'.

I have this problem too. I turn Eco off, and after a while it comes on again.
Did the Worcester tech line help?

I'm afraid I can't answer your query, but I have the opposite problem with my Worcester boiler. I don't normally want to use the Eco setting, but if I go away for a few days I want to set it, so as not to waste gas while I'm not there. However, when I come home I find that the setting has turned itself off.

I do know that the boiler cycles through all its controls once every 24 hours - this means that late every evening the Eco setting comes on for a short time then goes off again. The engineer has told me that this cannot be changed. I therefore assumed that if I had manually switched that setting on, every 24 hours it would go off for a short time then come back on again. But apparently not. Its default setting is always off, whatever I do. Maybe if someone knows what is going on, it may help AlanF as well as me!

Thanks.

Sorry, my terminology was at fault. When I said "heating", I meant heating up the hot water supply. Not the central heating recirc.

It is very strange, nonetheless. The manual indicates that you switch it on, or off, and it is supposed to stay that way.

Unusual sounding problem, when u use the eco button it should just cycle the boiler internally not through the heating. Maybe you have a diverter issue,as for the button itself may well be a pcb job D'oh
