My KX-TCD 440 suddenly lost connection with BT landline. What could have ha?

My KX-TCD 440 has lost connection with the BT landline. The handset shows a flashing aerial.

I am trying to open the base station and cannot find what is holding the front as I have removed the 2 obvious screws at the back and it still won't open.

As long as you know the socket and land line connections are ok then.
