sometimes my home alarm goes off even when it is not armed.how can this happen

If the programming has been touched recently then it could have been incorrectly altered to cause this. If not then the following are examples of activations that occur even when the alarm is not set (the keypad should display the cause):
Mains electricity power fault
Telephone line fault
Tamper circuit fault
