how to hook up two vcrs to record [emerson VCR ewv401]?

Simple enough. Get one unit as your playback unit, and the other for your recording unit. Unless you already have one, buy a scart lead (make sure it is not damaged in any way). Set both your your units on to the correct input/output (usually AV). (Just make sure you have enough tape space on the recording tape. Also, when you are recording I recommend you use new tapes, and on the speed SP. Hey, you may get half the room than LP, but its better picture quality)

Get a SCART to RCA cable, it looks like this http://www.flamingo.ro/common/img/pics/SOLE/5532_200.jpg . Connect the SCART end (the big bit) to the back of the VCR that is going to play the tape you want to make a copy of. The yellow and white connectors on the other end go into the two video ports on the front of the VCR that has the blank tape you want to record onto. On the VCR with the cable plugged into the front press the channel downw change button until the screen on the front shows AV (usually one less than channel 1). Press the record button on this player then press play on the other one.
