I have a top loading Fisher&Paykel washing machine Model GW712 (7.5kg). It washed OK two nights ago, but then last night, I pressed the "Power" button and nothing happened!. Power cord still plugged in, and power point turned on. NO storms between last use and now!. No sign of rodent infestation that may have chewed power cord. Any ideas? If I can't fix it, how nasty is the bill going to be???

Plug something else in to that power point to make sure it has power. If ok then either the main control board has died or the drain pump. How much it will cost depends on where you live & how much the local service company charges for house calls and what exactly needs replacing. Best to phone several companies & ask what they charge. You will get several different prices then choose. Make sure they also give you a written warranty.
