Indesit W143S - dial clicks round, light flashes 10 times - ??

Yes, the light flashes ten times and the dial just keeps spinning, no matter the cycle selected. The filter, assuming it's the part at the foot of the machine at the front, is clear, so I don't think it is that. A cursory glance under the "bonnet" showed no obvious signs of wire damage.
Any ideas, or ball park figures for repair costs?

Feedback that I picked up from elsewhere indicated that the problem was due to the pressure switch (circular unit with a hose attached). I removed the switch, shook it blew into it and reassembled. It seems to have worked. Just finished a cycle and am trying another load. This was for model WI121. The constant turning of the timer is a generic fault indicator. The number of flashes indicates the actual fault. 10=Pressure Switch.

the ten flashes relate to a fault code of F10 which is your pressure switch not sensing so unplug the washer remove the lid and on the front right hand side near the selector you will see a round component with a small tube attached thats the pressure switch blow down the tube and listen for bubbles if you here them then the hose is ok and you just need a pressure switch prob be 20 -30 quid and easy to fit

I had the same problem with my machine.
You need to reset the electronic programmer by doing the following: In the event that this does not work, then the programmer has gone and not viable to replace on a machine of 4 yrs old.

Reset Procedure:

With the machine power switched off, turn the programmer to a programme end position (denoted by a dot).

Press and hold down the power button until the power light flashes at steady intervals (Approx 10 seconds)

Let go of the button and press the power button again to switch off.

You have now reset the electronics.

If the machine does not function now, it is a suspected programmer fault, ballpark replacement cost £170 parts & fitting.
