my alarm siren doesnt go off but indicators flash?

can anyone help me , when i set my alarm on my vauxhall omega 2.5 v6 cdx, and i open the boot, or door, the indicators flash, but the siren doesnt go off,

can anyone help me , any information would be much appreciated

Is this siren connected, sounds obvious I know. Or possibly sometimes the siren can be switched off (little switch or key on the siren itself). That would explain lights but no sound.
