How can I fix my videocamera, Panasonic, NV-DS65?

When I want to record there is no picture. It records black only. It does record sound but not picuture. When I play back old recordings, the camera works as a VCR but does show picture on the LCD screen when in recording mode?

I have a Cannon MV600i camcorder with the same fault, it was the CCD that was faulty.

I contacted a company called PLYMCARE, who fixed it for FREE, I only had to pay postage one way as well.

Worth giving them a call on 01752 303 555.

"Looks" like the CCD chip - which connects the lens and recording tape. Sound but no picture is a classic symptom. Only way to repair is replacement, I'm afraid. However, you may find that Panasonic will repair free of charge (like Sony & JVC) since large numbers of these produced around 2003/2004 malfunctioned after a while.
