How can I fix my Accenta 8 house alarm?

I am having 2 new windows fitted. How do I disable the alarm on the ones being taken out?

If you have the engineers code go into engineer mode - this will suppress the tamper circuit. i am assuming you have magnetic contacts fitted to the existing windows. There will be 4 wires going to the contact (2 for alarm, 2 tamper) unscrew the contact and identify the 2 pairs, remove the alarm wires from the terminals and twist them together and wrap with insulating tape. Do the same with the tamper wires. The alarm will now simply see the detector as being closed circuit. Have a look at www.diy-alarms.co.uk it has some great info on alarms.

Hi. I have the Accenta 8 also, which funnily enough I'm having problems with at the minute. I have Operating Instructions which won't help what I need but hopefully will help you...

'To Omit A Zone' During the exit period (after entering your code and selecting a program) press Omit. The exit tone will stop and the zones that are about to be armed will be displayed. Key in the zone number(s) to be omitted which will flash to confirm selection. Zone indicators which show steady are still about to be armed. When the selection is complete press set and the exit tone will continue.

Hope this helps.
