How can I stop my boiler from tripping the RCD ?

Came home after successfully booking a stress free fortnight in Fuengirola to find the electricity was off in my house.Narrowed it down to my Ravenheat rsf 820/20 combi boiler.(It's on the sockets ring main in the kitchen).
Whenever the boiler turns itself off (timer) or on,or if the required temperature is reached and the thermostat turns it off,or even if I turn hot water tap on,there is something in the boiler making the RCD trip switch on the box in the cellar.

Met a friend of a friend who subscribes to Ravenheat Technical helpline of some sort,it turns out that there's a small transistor or resistor of some sort going to the fan,it is linked in to the wiring half way to the fan.Looks like a small heatsink, gold coloured.Just needed to change that.

Sounds like you need a new control board (inside the boiler) or the micro switch on the three way valve or some of the low voltage wiring to the micro switch is exposed. I would guess micro switch most likely. Very tricky to get at with boiler in situ. but quite cheap to buy.
