Sony Cybershot lens stuck after a very slight impact???

My Sony Cybershot fell off of a chair (about 2.5 feet) and landed on the hardwood floor in my house while powered on. After that, the lens was stuck. When the camera is powered on in camera mode the motor hums and nothing happens. Has anyone else had the same problem. Can it be repaired easily. Any help is appreciated.

Mine got stuck I tried several things and found that by changing the settings before turning it on from auto to another setting it opened and then when I zoomed it I could not go back to wide angle so I turned it off and it retacted but changed back to wide by its self. After that it has been workong OK so far.

its very simple..i was dealing with this just a few minutes ago..took some pics with the timer and the damn thing fell on the carpet ,very slight impact..i pulled the lens many many times without very good results...then i thought what the hell i dropped it twice on the carpet ( not too hard) and the lens is back to normal..so u might wanna do this if you have a carpeted floor, cheaper than sony repairs

I have the same problem, I find if i hit my camera a few times, quite hard (no joke) it'll open, but i have to do this every time i turn it on.

Did you guys ever fix this problem? I dropped my camera yesterday, it fell on carpet and now the lens is stuck. Any ideas before I send it for repair.
