How can i remove tape from upvc windows left on too long?

I have upvc windows fitted about four months. The tape on the outside was not removed and has weathered and cracked. Is there any way of removing it easily as it took me an hour to remove tape off one small piece of a window

Use a solvent such as white spirit to soften the glue - if you want quicker results, a rag dampened with petrol should work ok, but keep it off the plastic.
