door device, not receiving its signal to allow the unit to operate?

the door switch does not seem to allow the m/c. to operate, the door light does not illuminate showing that is correctly closed the washing m/c. is a Zanussi, FS1445W.a new door unit has been fitted without any improvment

if the old door lock had a brown mark on it then it might of damaged the triac on the main control pcb.when door locks fail they sometimes blow
