Thanks for the help i had in my last visit here regarding a battery replacement.
I have replaced it today but a fault still remains.
The power led is lit and also the tamper but i have no day led and the alarm will not recover.
The key pad appears to respond because it accepted my user code to silence the sirens now the battery is connected.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry my mistake i had put my user code in so I thought which didn't stop the sirens at the time,so i used the engineering code then left it at that.
Forgot to switch mains off also before I took the battery
off,naughty I know.
All ok now,fingers crossed.

Sounds like you have gone into engineering :D,
either that or you've set it at some stage and it's thrown a tamper(no lid),

Press reset twice and see if it returns to day mode.
