Golf IV Car Alarm?

Once I lock my car using either the keyfob or by inserting the key in the driver's door, the car's alarm or the indicators will independently go-off. Both of these go-off independently. Having consulted with the car's manual to try to deactivate the alarm, it said that I should insert the key in the driver's door and turn the key in the lock position twice. This will lock the car and disable the alarm. However, the alarm or the indicators still go-off. Extremely frustrating. Can you help?

hi mike
the indicators are to say the command has been noted either by unlocking or locking if however you use the key you must open the drivers door first and put key in ignition and turn to start positon prior to opening any other doors other wise the alarm will sound you will notice that before you put the key in the ignition the red led on the door will continue flashing
