Thomson DT16300 Orange flashing LED?

I have a Thomson DT16300, and the orange LED is flashing continuously not letting me any further into the unit to try and reset, I have tried the usual powering down, Is it dead ?

Thomson dt 16300-25 long delay when deleting programs?

Why does it take so long (15 secs++) to delete a program from the library? Any answers or ways of speeding it up? Is this a fault or just 'how it works'?
